The Apostle Paul speaks of this in Romans 7:18-25: “18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do – this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
The information to answer this question cannot be definitively discovered by human beings as they are governed by the dynamics of mortality. Even ‘near death’ experiences have the limitation that the person revived and survived.
All people have a general call on their lives to respond to God with faith, and He calls Christian people to live differently for Him in godliness. However, it is also true that for each person God has a specific calling, a place that He wants us to be, a role in His plan of salvation that He wants us to take on, and a time that He wants us to act in.
