Recycling is fashionable.

Information is cheap today. The internet is loaded with so much that we cannot even start to digest.

God's Word has been likened to many things: seed (Luke 8:11), a cleansing agent (John 15:3), gold and honey (Ps 19:10) and a sword (Eph 6:17). Now James says that it is also like a mirror.

How do you know that a Christian is sincere about their faith and not play-acting? Behaviour at church will not tell you everything.

It is a worldly habit to make friends with rich people in the hope that they will meet your needs. Jesus did not do that, because He was trusting in Father God to provide for Him.

If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, 'Love your neighbour as yourself,' you are doing right. But if you show favouritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as law-breakers. (NIVUK)

Religion, of whatever flavour, often thinks of varying degrees of right and wrong.

James has been telling us that favouritism is not a godly way to behave, and so he now concludes by looking ahead to the time when we have our lifetime's 'appraisal' with Jesus.

Many people claim to have faith, but how do we know if it is real? True faith in Jesus Christ brings salvation (cf Acts 16:31) from sin's domination and from hell itself.
